The location of the Domaine in Maillen is stunning, nestled in the forest with breathtaking views of the valley. My room had a lovely view, bright and spacious, which added to the experience. The rustic 'hunting lodge' decor was charming without being overdone, creating a comfortable atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, featuring fresh local offerings that were delicious. the pool area needs serious attention. it felt unsafe with damaged decks that had exposed nails. The dining options were limited, especially since the restaurant was closed on the holiday we visited, leaving us scrambling for food. A simple snack shop would help prevent guests from feeling stranded. My room lacked basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner, and it would have been nice to have a choice for dinner rather than a set menu. The staff were helpful but struggled to communicate effectively regarding issues.

The great and the meh
Nestled in beautiful nature, the location is mesmerising with elegant outdoor spaces and a delightful swimming pool.
Limited dining options and unresponsive service can dampen the experience, especially with unexpected closures during holidays.

i almost had to give a good review but the restaurant closed without warning! also, what was with the fridge smell on the charcuterie at breakfast? absolutely revolting. Mention should also go to the neglected decor in the restaurant. it’s like nobody cares. given all this, i expected at least a room upgrade—woudl ve been nice!

The family loved exploring the beautiful nature around the hotel. we found a great children's playground which kept our teens entertained. The outdoor pool was a hit, and we had a refreshing time soaking up the sun. Breakfast was delightful, with plenty of options.
My children wished there were more dining choices available.

Stunning views and charming atmosphere
We were captivated by the breathtaking views from our room, which offered a peaceful overlook of the valley and gardens. The rustic 'hunting lodge' decor added a unique charm, making our stay quite comfortable. The extensive grounds had plenty of activities, although it was disappointing that the on-site restaurant was closed during our visit, leaving us in search of food elsewhere. we had a lovely stay, but it would have been perfect with more dining options available.

We had a wonderful time, especially relaxing in the spa lounge and enjoying the peaceful garden area. The beautiful setting and fantastic breakfast buffets really made our stay special. Just a tiny bummer was some noise from a group outside during the night, but it didn’t ruin our overall positive vibes. 😊

we really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and the stunning exterior of the castle. the park around was beautiful too, perfect for strolls with the kids. our room in the castle building was quite spacious for the 4 of us and looked recently renovated. breakfast was nice with a good view from the restaurant, just be there before 9:00 to get enough food. the bar area was nice with different chill zones for relaxing, and they had things for the kids to do as well.

The stay was overall enjoyable, with a unique experience in the castle setup. The family room was spacious and comfortable for the four of us, making it an excellent choice for a group. The stunning views from the property added to the charm, and we appreciated the quality of the buffet dinner, although it was somewhat pricey at 50 euros per person.
The dining options were limited to one facility on the extensive grounds.
