The location of the Domaine in Maillen is stunning, nestled in the forest with breathtaking views of the valley. My room had a lovely view, bright and spacious, which added to the experience. The rustic 'hunting lodge' decor was charming without being overdone, creating a comfortable atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, featuring fresh local offerings that were delicious. the pool area needs serious attention. it felt unsafe with damaged decks that had exposed nails. The dining options were limited, especially since the restaurant was closed on the holiday we visited, leaving us scrambling for food. A simple snack shop would help prevent guests from feeling stranded. My room lacked basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner, and it would have been nice to have a choice for dinner rather than a set menu. The staff were helpful but struggled to communicate effectively regarding issues.

i almost had to give a good review but the restaurant closed without warning! also, what was with the fridge smell on the charcuterie at breakfast? absolutely revolting. Mention should also go to the neglected decor in the restaurant. it’s like nobody cares. given all this, i expected at least a room upgrade—woudl ve been nice!

The pool complex was great! loved the charming architecture and the relaxing spa lounge. The grounds were beautiful and perfect for exploring.

The family loved exploring the beautiful nature around the hotel. we found a great children's playground which kept our teens entertained. The outdoor pool was a hit, and we had a refreshing time soaking up the sun. Breakfast was delightful, with plenty of options.

we really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and the stunning exterior of the castle. the park around was beautiful too, perfect for strolls with the kids. our room in the castle building was quite spacious for the 4 of us and looked recently renovated. breakfast was nice with a good view from the restaurant, just be there before 9:00 to get enough food. the bar area was nice with different chill zones for relaxing, and they had things for the kids to do as well.

The stay was overall enjoyable, with a unique experience in the castle setup. The family room was spacious and comfortable for the four of us, making it an excellent choice for a group. The stunning views from the property added to the charm, and we appreciated the quality of the buffet dinner, although it was somewhat pricey at 50 euros per person.
